Today the interim NHS people plan (IPP) was published by NHS Improvement, NHS England and Health Education England. The IPP sets a vision for how people working in the NHS will be supported to deliver care and identifies the actions we will take to help them.
The plan, which includes a specific chapter on improving leadership culture, has been developed collaboratively with leaders and partners across the country and aims to role model the leadership behaviours of collaboration, inclusivity and compassion.
It highlights the importance of people and how we can make the NHS the best place to work so that we can retain and attract the very best people for the benefit of our patients. Focusing on our people, their working environment, career development and ways of working is critical to the success of the NHS.
