Promoting equality, diversity and inclusion should be at the heart of all people interventions in the NHS. All organisations should be taking action to embed an inclusive approach to talent management, supporting their staff to appreciate difference and ensuring they are focused on attracting, developing and retaining a diverse workforce.
Standards have been introduced to ensure organisations are monitoring access to opportunities and taking positive action to eliminate discrimination or under representation. There is guidance on this website, and that of NHS Employers which organisations may find helpful to support their approach.
We are currently in the process of developing resources for this important section of the talent management toolkit. We are working in partnership with organisations who are supporting us to develop the Talent Management DiagnosticTool and gaining understanding of what resources organisations require to support embedding inclusive talent management practice.
