Programme facilitators

Contents

The programme is undertaken at a locally-agreed scale and pace, utilising a team of local facilitators who will be trained and supported by a member of the NHS Leadership Academy mobilisation team.

Role

The programme runs for six months per cohort and is delivered via an online virtual campus and online discussion forums with three face-to-face days delivered locally at the organisation(s) by the in-house facilitators

  • Two facilitators from the team are allocated to each cohort. Cohorts can be split into two “home groups” with the facilitators monitoring and facilitating online discussions forums, or depending on the size of the cohort can remain as a single home group, co-facilitated by the facilitating pair
  • The cohort comes together for each of the face-to-face workshops which would be led by both facilitators

Requirements of each facilitator over the two year licence period

  • Attendance at an initial two day mobilisation event run by the allocated member of the mobilisation team
  • A further two training and supervision days (half development, half supervision per day) will be determined by the facilitators, the local organisation(s) and the mobilisation team
  • Preparation time (potentially up to half a day) and delivery of the three face-to-face workshops per six month programme cohort
  • One hour per week to initiate discussions and monitor the online discussion forums via the online virtual campus
  • Further regular supervision touch points taking place across the two year licence period, including potentially a review towards the end of the licence, depending on what is required and appropriate. This can be undertaken virtually or face-to-face
