Construction Site Supervisor – Level 4 (with Edward Jenner) Apprenticeship
Construction site supervisors oversee specialist contractors, ensuring compliance with health and safety standards on construction projects. They are responsible for recording, controlling, and reporting progress, while working to minimise the environmental impact of construction activities. Additionally, they manage the quality of work on site and assist commercial staff in monitoring and controlling project costs.
This apprenticeship combines the NHS Leadership Academy’s Edward Jenner programme with a Level 4 Construction Site Supervisor.
Who is it for?
Assistant site manager, assistant supervisor and construction site supervisor. In the case of SME construction companies, the roles also include site manager or site supervisor.

Three years
How you will learn
This course incorporates effectively planned trips, with a direct relevance to the syllabus, which would add value to the learning experience and employer links: Guest speaker experts from industry or visiting academics in the subject area that is being studied. Workshops are used to build on knowledge shared via tutors and seminars.

Core (mandatory) units:
- Unit 1: Individual Project (Pearson Set)
- Unit 4: Construction Practice and Management
- Unit 5: Legal and Statutory Requirements in Construction
- Unit 6: Construction Information (Drawing, Detailing, Specification)
- Unit 7: Surveying, Measuring & Setting-out
- Unit 11: Financial Management & Business Practices in Construction
- Unit 17: Civil Engineering Technology
- Unit 20: Site Supervision & Operations
Entry requirements
- A minimum of five GCSES (Including maths and English Language) at grade 5-9 or B to A*
- In addition, the applicant must have completed either of the following:
- A BTEC Level 3 qualification in construction and the built environment (eg civil engineering, building services engineering, or construction (or a related subject)
- GCE advanced level profile that demonstrates strong performance in a relevant subject or adequate performance in more than one GCE subject.
- Any other relevant level three qualifications, e.g.:
- i) Access to higher education diploma awarded by an approved further education institution
- ii) A City and Guilds Level 3 in plumbing, electrical, construction, etc.
- International equivalent of the above.
- Relevant work experience is desirable.,
